How well do you wait? I admit that I wait pretty well. Let me clarify that less-than-humble statement. I wait pretty well when I know exactly what I’m waiting on. But what about all the other times? What about when I ask God for direction? How well do I wait when I’m not sure what I’m waiting on? Why do I even have to wait? It seems I’m avoiding the question with a question. Perhaps.
Is it a struggle for you, too? Waiting makes us uncomfortable. It seems like a waste of time we don’t have. But here’s the thing, it’s not a waste of time because God is working in our waiting. Wouldn’t it make it a bit easier to wait if we know that God isn’t waiting – He’s working on our behalf.
Instant gratification often costs us the best possible outcome.
