Just recently I was hit with news that would shake the very foundation of my soul. I have never had such a shattering experience in my life. I can’t begin to explain the emotions that overcame the depths of my being. As I tried to process what I had just learned, I felt the comfort of my savior assuring me that He was in control. A few days later, He brought me to a verse that was written just for me in that moment. “..And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this.” Esther 4:14
Have you ever come to a point in your life that is so very deeply painful and in the midst of it, you know in your heart that God has been preparing you for it? He has been preparing you for that which seems unpreparable (if that is even a word)? Maybe during those times in your life, you have missed that truth that you are prepared and reacted as though you are not. I am sure I have done that many times.
We sometimes feel as though we are being prepared for one thing, to find out we are being prepared for something much more challenging. That is a quick reminder that only He holds the future and we are not in control. Thank God we are not..what a mess that would be! I was so sure of what God was preparing me for over the past few years until the day came when I was not. There was a far greater challenge He had in mind for me. One that would require my total dependancy on Him to make it through.
He is continually preparing each of us “for such a time as this”. Embrace the preparation period and thank God for the royal position he places you in when that time comes. It is, in fact, a royal position. After all, why should we expect any less from our sweet Jesus.
“For I know that plans I have for you..plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
